Measurement of viscosity describes the flow behaviour of liquid samples. This is important where ever liquids are used or produced. There is a great varity of applications. 

The fields of operation are easily realised in the coatings industry or in production of cosmetics. 

Interesting but less common is that process viscometers can be used for example for detecting air bubbles in liquids during filling
