Temperature control by cryostat
In general temperature control is possible with any commercial cryostat. The stand of the Rheomats is designed in a way that allows direct immersion into the cryostat.
The plate of the cone-plate-stand can be connected directly with a cryostat.

Temperation unit for connection with cryostat
If desired a temperation unit can be connected with a cryostat. This unit is designed for temperation of DIN measuring systems and for double gap measuring systems for low viscosity liquids.

Peltier-Element for temperatures from 0 to 100°C
For exact viscosity measurement accurate temperature control is essential. For this purpose a Peltier-Element with control unit is availabe. The temperature range is from 0 to 100°C.
The Peltier system is available for coaxial and cone-plate measuring systems.

Oven Rheotemp RTIII
For temperatures higher than 100°C an oven for coaxial measuring systems is available. The standard version (as shown) allows temperatures up to 600°C. If necessary the temperature range can be enlargened up to 1.400°C. At these temperatures special measuring systems will be needed.

Frequently standard oils (Silicon-, calibration- or standardoil) are used to check measurement instruments. Occasionally viscosity is given at one temperature only.
In the illustration you can see the viscosity-temperature dependency of a calibration oil, according to its calibration protocol. You can see that the viscosity decreases far more than 50 mPas between 20°C and 25°C.
This implies that viscosity decreases about 2 % per degree Celsius. While checking viscosity measurement instruments with oils this fact should be taken into account.
